My name is Nicole and I am a domestic adoptee, raised by a single father. I have many years of insight from soul searching to understand my identity and become my best self in this world. I have learned about the lifelong journey of adoption from experts through my service with a local community organization that supports everyone touched by adoption. I have also spent countless hours reading about adoption, connecting with fellow adoptees and reflecting on my experiences. The work has helped me understand how being abandoned and adopted shapes my personality, thought patterns, decisions and relationships with others. After choosing to accept and love myself, I can confidently say I have made significant progress, but I am also a work in progress. We all are! That’s why I created this blog as a place for adoptees to share the journey of self discovery.
While being an adoptee is part of my identity, it does not define who I am. Please read on to learn more about my personal and professional background:
I am a single mother of an adult son, recently engaged bride-to-be, corporate marketing and communications executive, and fashionista who is passionate about self care, sustainability, my small circle of besties and the collective success of women in this world. I am driven to continuously find new ways to make the most of my life by using my talents to drive positive change, creating moments that matter and helping others on their journey.
I have two decades of corporate marketing and communications experience, with a BA in Public Relations and a Master’s in Communications Management. I am blessed to have been recognized for my educational and professional accomplishments with multiple awards and speaking opportunities, yet it feels like I am just getting started. I am always looking to expand my network and engage new people in new ways to make a difference. Please contact me to collaborate!
